Kia Ora, Hello and Welcome to the 9Manu page on the Whangarei Girls' High School Physics Wiki
There are two purposes for this page:
Firstly, to provide a handy place for links to useful and/or interesting sites.
Secondly, to provide a place where the lesson plans, lesson notes and other handy files can be stored and accessed online. This could be handy for reference, review or for people who are not able to attend classes right now because they are away from school for sickness or field trips.

THE FIRST PART - Links
There are some great youtube clips and other links that are really worth another look. I have posted links to them here:

THE SECOND PART - Files that are not lessons
Occasionally, I show files like PowerPoints and Word documents that are not les son plans. So far, I have shown two, from memory. They are the PowerPoints that I put together for the objectives of the first two units. I'll be putting together another one for the next unit soon.

THE THIRD PART - Photographs
Filtration
Here is a photo from Shirah. Thank you Shirah; it is a really good shot of the gear.

Microscopes
Here are some photographs taken by Talia. They show what can be seen when a phone camera is pointed down a microscope. It is not high-tech photography but it works and I think it is really neat.
Image 1 of leaf down microscope.jpg
Talia took this photograph of a leaf taken down the microscope at about 40 times magnification.

Image of Ant down microscope.jpg
Talia also took this picture of a dead ant. It is taken at the same magnification as the leaf above. Thank you Talia!!

THE FOURTH PART - Lesson plans and notes
The lesson plans and notes are available via a code. The code is not very secret.
"9Manu Y14 M02 D05 marked.pptx" means:
9Manu - the lesson plan and notes for this classs
Y14 - this year: 2014
M02 - the second month, i.e. February
D05 - the 5th day of the month, i.e the 5th of February, 2014
marked - this means that I have some handwritten notes or sketches on the slides after the lesson plan.
pptx - this means that the file is a PowerPoint and you will need this software on your computer to open and look at it.

THE FIFTH PART - mini youtube tutorials
There will be some small youtube tutorial clips appearing here soon. WATCH THIS SPACE.

Finally, feel free to email me with comments about this wiki page. I've put my email in the rather cryptic form below as this will reduce the chances that my email address will get harvested by spambots.
